Hello and welcome...
My name is Elke and I currently call Ottawa, Canada home.
What I am up to at the moment:
Focusing on forging and maintaining meaningful connections with family, friends and the wider community, including the natural environment. I love learning, creating beautiful and practical things and finding helpful ways to thrive in these complicated times.
Other things I've done:
Teaching, working in the healthcare system and raising a lovely human being (now an awesome young adult). Although all of my work has been meaningful, I hope it isn't hard to guess which "job" has been - and continues to be - my most treasured :)
I have also learned a number of languages along the way, as well as how to use a few power tools in safe and effective ways, how to bind books, make a Leopold bench from scratch (which now sits on our little balcony at home) and create alternative and historical process lens and light-based work. I enjoy getting out in nature when I can and learning to live in healthier reciprocity with the world around me.
